Anacostia Organics
About Anacostia Organics
On Martin Luther King Jr Avenue SE in Southeast Washington, Anacostia Organics holds a 4.6-star average across 333 reviews. The shop pulls praise for warm, professional service and pre-rolls and edibles that reviewers consistently rate highly. Quality, in customer terms, runs top tier, and product variety covers the categories most patients shop for. The friction point is the intake process. Returning customers report having to complete paperwork again on follow-up visits, which one reviewer described as a frustrating DC government requirement. The on-site security setup, with ID check at the foyer and a team waiting inside, keeps the operation feeling buttoned-up but adds friction for repeat customers. Pricing trends higher, though sales help. Hours are limited: closed Monday and Sunday, with the shop open noon to 7 PM Tuesday through Saturday. For Southeast DC residents specifically, Anacostia Organics fills a real local gap with strong product quality.
- Top-tier edibles selection
- Warm professional service
- Repeat paperwork frustration

Customer Reviews
I love this place! The customer service is warm and professional. Prices are great and the quality of their products is top tier. I love the edibles and pre rolls.
I am changing my review. After coming in to visit your location for a second time, I had to complete the paperwork again! The nice receptionist man said it was a "DC government thing" on what was happening. Frustrated I left. I will just go to MD and drop my $200. Again, the staff is nice, but its best to have your card in tow before coming in. Doing so will allow you to receive great customer service. Not doing so, will have you in a Maryland dispensary after wasting time here due to DC government. Oh well. I came in today and met "Patrick" who was very nice and professional. I appreciate the way he took time with me to ensure I understood everything about my experience. Thank you.
Was in town for a vacation and they are great people. Definitely recommend to anyone
I visited since I was in area, last time I tried to visit there was a long line. Luckily when I arrived there was a sale bc this place is expensive and I can totally understand why. Everyone is generally nice. You walk inside and there’s a foyer with security to check your ID, you get access inside and there’s a team waiting at the desk soon as you walk in to help assist with paper work & ipad entry access. They only accept card and you pay $10 to have access to them for 3 days, after you sign up for their database which legit takes 15-20minutes you finally get access and browse a selection. The shop is nice inside, clean with beautiful art work on the wall. I was interested in pre rolls which was $22 but thankfully the sale made it $15 w/o tax. I suggest cash at check out but they do take card. Experience was enjoyable but this place is 50/50 on convenience, I only went bc it was in the area atm & I heard good things but had I known the whole process i probably would’ve just went somewhere else. You do not need a medical license to purchase weed at other shops in the area so they’re only requiring one at this shop, think of the $10 entrance fee as a tip for personalized shopping experience. I got the Pave pre roll and it was really good, I suggest that! If you’re into recreational weed I suggest another place, as this place mostly tends to medicalized product I believe. The gentlemen in the front I believe his name is Mark, was very helpful and a breath of fresh air. There was an older woman with red lipstick in the front who started screaming no when I asked about taking pictures, otherwise she was nice besides that moment. Thank you for your service!
If you're adventurous, this is a nice place. Very friendly staff for the most part. Selection isn't huge nor does it ever vary much. Very pricey compared to the competition but it's the only legit spot in Anacostia. They also seem to open for business less and less so you'll be visiting that competition often even if you are committed to them. And finally you're going to have to put it lady luck's hands whether they will have what you want because they often don't have what they advertise or what customers are looking for. Again though, great staff must times. Very friendly.
