About Zen Leaf Cannabis Dispensary

Located in Hampton's Coliseum Central neighborhood on Cunningham Drive, this Zen Leaf dispensary holds a 4.6-star average across 420 reviews. Top-end reviews highlight staff members like Latoya for patient, detailed explanations that make first visits feel smooth rather than rushed. The mid-range and negative reviews point to customer service consistency issues and one specific incident around a power outage where customers waited at the door without communication from inside. Both ends of the feedback matter for setting expectations. Hours follow the standard Zen Leaf Virginia split schedule: 10 AM to 1 PM and 1:30 to 7 PM Monday through Friday, with Saturday closing at 5 PM and Sunday closed. The Coliseum Central location keeps it accessible from the Hampton Roads center, including Newport News and surrounding parts of the peninsula. For first-time patients, requesting a budtender like Latoya or asking for an experienced team member can help shape the visit positively.

Customers mention:
  • Latoya praised for patient service
  • Service consistency is uneven
  • Standard split-schedule hours
  • Accessible Hampton Roads location

Stephanie

I had an absolutely wonderful first experience working with Latoya! She was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything in detail, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. What really set her apart was how personal and attentive she was with me! I never felt like just another client. Extremely helpful and professional. Keep up the great work!

Just moved from Colorado, first time buying wax in Virginia. Lady helping us tells us 3g of the wax we were getting and the price so we got 2 of them total came out to $173. It's a little high for 6g since we were able to get 1g for $15-$20 in Colorado but okay. We get home and both of the containers are 1g each. Called up there and we were told that we purchased the correct thing and no one said it was 3g (they did). Making it $80 for 1g. We even told them we wanted the cheapest thing atm so we could see how VA compares to CO for cheap wax. Outrageous price of $80 per gram if that's their cheapest wax. Will not be going back to this company. The $15-$20 was the recreational price in Colorado, Medical was even cheaper than that for 1g. Seems like Cannabist has a monopoly in Virginia and is price gouging like no tomorrow trying to make as much as possible off of scamming its customers with those prices.

My shopping experience was fabulous. The receptionist helped me promptly, and the staff was more than knowledgeable and kind. The three stars come from their service , but these prices are just plain mean- do cancer patients have to trick out for a joint? This seems like a business that has monopolized and money grabbed. I know weed prices , and these are GREEDY!

The associates are very rude. They treat you as if they are inconvenienced by your presence as a customer! Crazy enough because this is a customer service based business and you are also dealing with individuals with ailments. Anyone in power at this location, looking at the review, PLEASE TALK TO YOUR PEOPLE. It’s not that hard to find decent people. Of all the dispensaries I’ve visited in VA, and in other states, THIS IS THE WORST. Not only is the customer service poor, the selection is few. The line was out of the door when I visited, prompting me to believe something good was happening. Upon entering I found “new arrivals”, that I had seen across the Hampton Roads months ago!! This was a wasted trip, I’m so disappointed ☹️ 👎🏾 but I will say that security here is on point! They won’t tolerate any nonsense, but still have a way of pleasantly welcoming in guest. I hate to be that person but, I’m never coming back here 🤣🤣🤣. I advise everyone else not to either. If you’re looking for a good selection and would like to be treated with respect and dignity, then DON’T COME HERE. There are better locations within the vicinity.

Power was out when I tried to enter about 11am, can’t blame them for that. But a hour later power came back about 12pm and I waited 15minutes at the door tried knocking and ringing they wouldn’t answer, clearly trying to stretch it out while they get paid, they could of said our powers back but we need time to setup(they were already open before power went out,but ok) instead people were just coming up and walking away because of the sign they put and no answer, which I guess was their goal, to do less business while they are paid. todays 12/6/2025 here’s a photo of their lights on but the makeshift closed sign I could hear the dude inside start laughing when I took the photo. Just lazy. Can’t say much against the place, it is what it is. The people though, lazy. They close at 1pm for break anyway right? They had a lot of people waiting or just straight up leaving which I should of from the beginning because they clearly aren’t professionals
