The Apothecarium Dispensary Castro
About The Apothecarium Dispensary Castro
On Market Street in San Francisco's Mission Dolores neighborhood, The Apothecarium Dispensary Castro pulls a 4.7 across 844 reviews — and it earns those numbers through the small things. The store itself comes up in reviews as large and well-designed, which matters when you're spending time browsing. But the real headline is the staff: knowledgeable without being pushy, friendly without being intrusive, attentive enough that first-timers walk out feeling looked after. Names like Davante and Andrew get repeated callouts. Open daily from 9 AM to 9:30 PM, this is one of the more accessible dispensaries on the Castro/Mission Dolores edge. The product knowledge runs deep across categories — flower, edibles, tinctures, vapes — and bud-tenders are willing to explain rather than just point. For visitors who want a dispensary that doesn't feel like a quick transaction, the experience here lands closer to a real shop with real care. Solid pick if you're in central San Francisco.

Customer Reviews
The apothecarium staff is phenomenal. Each crew member made me feel welcomed and was attentive to my needs. My favorite quality about the staff is how knowledgeable they are about the products they sell. I had such a great visit I returned back not even 2 days later to try some product I missed on my first visit. I highly recommend for ANYONE to stop by and browse their menu.
I love this place! It has great products and great staff. I recently had to make a return for the first first time - Andrew made the process quick and easy. I left very satisfied!
The store is large and beautiful. Customer Service is awesome. Andrew is great. I was greeted with a smile and hello as soon as I walked in. They made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions. If only all shopping experiences could be as wonderful as this. I will return soon.
Casey & DeVanté gave me such a warm welcome, always very inviting & excellent customer service! I was recommended a new brand with their expertise of what I usually get. Great value too! I appreciate the hospitality, while multitasking with others.
I had the pleasure of having Davante assist me with my purchase today. I am saying, he is an amazing representative of The Apothecarium Dispensary. He was so very nice and friendly. Not too friendly, though and not pushy. He made me feel very comfortable. He even gave me some great advise regarding my purchase. I wish there were more people in positions of working with the public like Davante. He actually made the rest of my day complete. I left there with a smile, and feeling like there are still some great people left in the world. Thank you Davante for being there. Hopefully, I will see you the next time I want to make a purchase.
