About Josephine & Billie’s powered by Off The Charts

Set on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in South Los Angeles, Josephine & Billie's powered by Off The Charts is a women-owned Cannabis store with a 4.7-star rating across 263 reviews. The shop runs 8 AM to 10 PM every day. It's a smaller neighborhood spot with a clear point of view — supporting women in cannabis and curating a thoughtful selection rather than chasing the biggest catalog. Reviews praise the budtenders' hospitality, with staff routinely stepping out from behind the counter to walk customers through options. Pricing is the most consistent critique. Several regulars note that nearby shops carry the same SKUs for noticeably less, so this isn't the value play in the area. What you're paying for is service, atmosphere, and the mission. Selection has improved over time according to repeat visitors, and the front-desk experience generally lands as warm and personal. Worth a stop if you want a curated, mission-driven shop rather than the cheapest gram in South LA.

Customers mention:
  • Women-owned, mission-driven shop
  • Warm, personal budtender service
  • Curated rather than huge selection
  • Premium pricing on shared SKUs

As much as I like this lttle shop just around the corner with friendly staff and to support the women owned community, I can not get over their "whack" prices. I can only stand to go and get a joint at a time knowing a shop not too far has the same item and most of the time half the price this shop sells. I suggest that if you want customers to keep coming back at the bare minimum show the price even if it is after tax, I do not mind paying if it's transparent. At times I go with a higher budget but walk out with little items because the tax messes with my calculations, I understand there is a happy hours 2 hours opening and before closing so I try to make these hours and even then the prices seem significantly higher than other shops. To summarize I spend easily $200 per week at other shops (catalyst is my fav so far) while about $30 in this shop because of the price jump from the tag to the register. If their business idea is that a higher price yields more per transaction true but I feel like they are missing more transactions because of this and in the end less money.

Super dope shop. I come on the weekends and the girl that works there lets me breathe and browse. I don't really like the shops where I need my hand held but some folks need that, I guess. Good selection, cheap prices, and good people too. Can't really beat that.

I have been here a few times, I really liked this. The budtenders here are usually super nice and very helpful, they greet you, come from behind the counter and answer questions and just make the experience worth coming back. I came in here Saturday night, the girl with the short curly hair did not greet me when I came in, I asked a question about pre-rolls and got a one word answer , I asked 1 follow up question instead of walking over and speaking to me like a normal person she yelled across the room with another one word answer. I could hear her talking, but it wasn’t to myself or the other customer that was there so I assume she was on a call and that call was more important then tending to the customers. Making customers feel like they are annoying you because you are on a personal phone call is a great way to lose them. Leadership should have a serious conversation with her about her poor customer service and taking personal calls while on the clock, it’s rude and J&B just lost a customer because of it. ✌️

I do have an update. We've been back several times, including today. Everyone is very personable which has wiped my original impression to a level that I have to admit, I do like this place. Their selection is on point. I am truly one satisfied customer (but always paying close attention). Update- 12/30 - so now I'm a "regular". I have been to other spots. My issue is this, $40 for item. $16 in taxes. I keep track of points and I just learned that after spending over $300. I only have $3. Most places accumulate @2 points per dollar but this place is 1 point per dollar. I'm starting to feel this place is not the best in town. Catalyst for example is 2 points per dollar AND their prices include tax. When the rep says $40 and then you find that there's another$16 then points is all you can hold onto. I say go, try it out then find the best one for you. I still think one advantage is that you can walk right up to what you want. After that.... if it worth going there when dispensaries are a dime a dozen. Very happy returning customer. Actually this is one of the best spots when you think about price and customer service, not to mention that you get to touch the product. See for yourself.

From the security to the staff just absolutely most friendly and professional staff. Shop is absolutely beautiful and I love how they have sample bags for every flower product so you can actually see what your buying . I’ll be back
